Late night crafting

After a long day of doing homework, my neighbor (fellow writer Danielle) and I decided to have a little craft night.

My mother generously gave me her sewing machine a month ago, and since I am crafting and sewing more these days, I decided to make a cover for my sewing machine, to protect it from dust.  (I hear dust is bad for sewing machines. Thanks for that info Danielle!)

Having a craft night with Danielle is great because I feel we bounce ideas off each other.  Plus, I can ask her for help if I’m completely lost at how my sewing machine works.

Using this pattern (again thanks Danielle), I whipped up a cute little cover for my sewing machine.

I think the buttons add a little extra detail

In the process of making my cover, Danielle reminded me about April Stash Bust.

All the materials I used were scraps that I had lying around the house (extra fabric, buttons, and twine), so I didn’t spend any money on new materials.

Now, my sewing machine is protected and no longer an eye sore in my dining room.
